| About the Club |
| |
Whether you're an entrepreneur, a senior executive, or an inspiring professional, the Rhinoceros Business Toastmasters Club offers a unique mix of speaking activities and events that will surely meet your needs.
Only six months after joining Toastmasters, Jinsoo Terry boldly chartered The Rhinoceros Business Toastmasters Club on March 9, 1998 - the only Toastmasters club in the Bay Area dedicated to business while providing members with educational and networking opportunities. The Club goals are more ambitious than any other Toastmasters club worldwide. |
| |
Jinsoo Terry determined the club
would educate members on various business values, practices
and philosophies; provide insight from local business leaders;
and enhance networking opportunities. And the Club would follow
the Toastmasters educational program to improve member communication and leadership skills.
To provide members with educational and networking opportunities, Jinsoo Terry began by inviting guest speakers in numerous fields and expertise. |

| She has expanded her vision of helping women and minorities solidly and successfully. The membership itself has grown into a dynamic force - among them numerous entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and executives. Members have come from Korea, Hong Kong, Europe, and South America. Many have found opportunities directly through the Club.
Jinsoo Terry has partnered with the U.S. Small Business Administration, and has worked closely with the U.S. Department of Commerce, the San Francisco Mayor's Office of Small Business Affairs, the Center for International Trade Development, the Bay Area World Trade Center, and others. |

| Events |
|
Among the ongoing events sponsored by the Club and its partners are: CEO Night, The Pacific Rim Networking Conference, and Venture Capital Night. |
| |
| CEO Night: |
| Serving as the kickoff event for the Executive Training Program, CEO Night brings together high-tech leaders and governmental officials to discuss pressing business matters.
The Executive Training Program helps senior executives of firms grossing $4 to $40 million in developing leadership skills and business opportunities through public speaking, in order to:
- Enhance their skills and take their business to the next level
- Provide networking opportunities with senior level executives
- Provide a link with domestic and international businesses
| The seasoned speakers and business professionals of Rhinoceros Business Toastmasters Club directly help senior executives improve their presentations in new and exciting
ways to achieve their business objectives, whether to obtain funding, to energize employees, or to take their company on a road show to increase product sales.
Both events are designed to increase networking among top ranked government and corporate officials, bring business to San Francisco, and bolster the reputation of
our city.
Sponsors: Office of the Mayor of San Francisco, U.S. Small Business Administration, and the Center for International Trade Development. |

| Pacific Rim Networking
Conference: |
California and the Pacific Rim countries exchange billions of dollars of goods and services, with the San Francisco Bay Area serving as a gateway for a large amount of that flow.
The Rhinoceros Business Toastmasters Club helps improve this trade fluidity by bringing together entrepreneurs, executives, and investors engaged in trans-Pacific business so that they can start the element so important in Asian business: building a solid, long-lasting business relationship. |
| |
Providing connections to companies and governments in China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong, and other Asian countries, Pacific Rim Networking Conference participants meet one another for mutual benefit while learning from the presentations.
The presentations themselves focus on technologies and foreign markets, while revealing foreign trade opportunities and providing encouragement for participants through their success stories.
Sponsors: The Bay Area Center for International Trade Development; with the cooperation of Japanese-English Toastmasters (JETS). |

| Venture Capital Night: |
In continuing to reveal her vision of providing women and minorities with both educational and networking opportunities, Jinsoo Terry created her series of Venture Capital Nights.
The Rhinoceros Business Toastmasters Club partnered with the U.S. Small Business Administration in bringing about this event.
The San Francisco Bay Area abounds with business opportunities, especially those involving technologies, either new or newly applied. |
| |
Entrepreneurs, expert in developing these technologies or in identifying new applications, seek financial resources to either start their enterprises or to build upon their current success.
Venture capitalists seek new opportunities within their focused investment areas while educating entrepreneurs on what to present to them for greater success.
Participation is by invitation only. Each presenter, whether entrepreneur or venture capitalist, has 15 minutes. After the end of the presentations segment, a professional coach and Rhinoceros Business Toastmasters Club member provides presenters with an evaluation of their presentation strengths and areas to work on. |
 |
| Nina Edwards, Rhinoceros Business Toastmasters Club president and originally from Taiwan, addresses venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, and club members during Venture Capital Night. |

| Featured presenters at the April 2001 event included: Rich Kiwata, financial advisor for venture financing; Mark Turrell, Chairman & Co-Founder, Imaginatik; Carolyn Gerin, President, Subset Design; and Gill Silberman, corporate counsel to venture funds. |
