As a volunteer organization, we don't motivate with increased salary, stock options, other financial rewards, or career opportunities. Nor with threat of termination.

But we can reward by raising the visibility of those who help further the efforts and success of Punahou NorCal, thereby strengthening people's faith in the spiritual principle that those who give shall be rewarded.

Of those who have given their professional services, we strongly urge you to consider them seriously in your commercial or personal pursuits. Remember: as Punahou alums and Punahou NorCal members, they are people of the highest quality and character. They are Punahou family.

March 2, 2002 Event:
Punahou NorCal will be eternally grateful to Mrs. Patricia Melarkey '49 Sykes and her delightful husband Bob for not only opening their beautiful home to 150+ guests, not only for their incredible humor in doing so (as they were first asked to host a group of 30), but for adjusting their plans remarkably by providing a very elegant affair complete with top-notch catering, exquisite place settings in china and silver, and many subtle interior touches that made us all feel like we were back in Hawaii Nei.

Many of us suspect Patricia also arranged the crystal-clear evening weather, too!

Patricia and Bob, God bless you!

Slide Show Photos:
LTC George S. "Buck" Buchanan 1956 generously donated his time by not only photographing attendees at both the 2/28 San Francisco and 3/2 Los Altos Hills events, but painstakingly captured many names and scanned the photos for online viewing form. Buck has volunteered as part of the Punahou NorCal photographer pool. To Buck, we say, "Aloha and Check 6!" View the slide shows here.
Communications and Membership:
Punahou NorCal communications operate the old-fashioned way: via word-of-mouth.

Punahou class correspondents have been incredible. Their efforts helped tremendously in producing the great turnouts at our February (111 people) and March (150+) events. Punahou NorCal thanks you for reaching your classmates on our behalf.

There are also a small group of "networked alums" within Punahou NorCal who not only have brought along disproportionate numbers of people to our events, but have actively influenced them to "opt in" to Punahou NorCal e-communications, to join, and to volunteer. While we get their approval to post their names here in recognition of their tremendous efforts, we publicly thank them for all they have already done and continue to do in building Punahou NorCal.
