Ann joined Toastmasters in January 1991. She has served in many club officer positions and as a district leader. She was awarded Area and Division Governor of the Year Awards, Excellence in Marketing, Education and Training, and served as District 1 Governor earning Distinguished status in 2002-2003.
 

In 2000, Ann retired after 40 years experience working in Corporate America. Her last position - as the Law Department Administrator in a Fortune 500 company - included preparing a $10MM budget, purchasing equipment, and hiring and releasing employees and managing a staff of 65 employees.

Presently, Ann is an instructor for UCLA Extension working with young professionals getting through the fear of public speaking. She also sits on the Board of the HRD Management Company, a real estate enterprise with properties in California, Arizona and Texas.

Ann has lived in West Los Angeles and Santa Monica for most of her life. She attended Marymount High School, the University of Southern California, Sawyers Business School, and has a Real Estate License. She is a widow and has one adult son, Bradford James Hastings.
